From Struggle to Simplicity – Designing EcoHub for Real Users
EcoHub is a digital platform designed to simplify and make sustainable living accessible. It combines eco-friendly shopping, educational resources, and a supportive community—all in one location.
The platform provides personalised recommendations, enabling users to discover products and resources tailored to their specific needs. Community spaces allow individuals to connect, share experiences, and collaborate on shared goals.
With progress-tracking tools and an engaging learning library, EcoHub empowers users to develop lasting habits, measure their impact, and find a more straightforward path toward sustainable living.
For many individuals, living sustainably can seem complicated. Existing platforms are often cluttered, hard to navigate, and usually require multiple tools—one for shopping, another for learning, and yet another for community engagement. This fragmented experience can leave users feeling frustrated, disengaged, and uncertain about the impact of their efforts.
The challenge is to design a user-centred platform that simplifies this process, guiding people through a clear and intuitive journey where making sustainable choices feels straightforward, motivating, and achievable.

Creating a precise user flow was crucial in shaping EcoHub’s design. By mapping out each step—from discovering products to joining communities and tracking progress—we identified common pain points that typically frustrate users on similar platforms.
This process streamlines navigation, minimises unnecessary steps, and ensures every action feels instinctive and intuitive. The outcome is a platform where users can transition effortlessly between shopping, learning, and collaborating, without feeling disoriented or overwhelmed.
Wireframes served as the blueprint for EcoHub, allowing us to experiment with layouts, test navigation flows, and identify usability issues early on. By concentrating on structure before visuals, we established a solid foundation for an intuitive and user-friendly platform.
The UI design stage transformed EcoHub from basic wireframes into a refined and polished experience. Our focus was on translating structure into a visual system that feels clean, modern, and approachable. We carefully selected colours, typography, and spacing to emphasise key actions and minimise cognitive load.
Every screen was designed to support the user’s journey—whether they are exploring the marketplace, joining a community, or tracking their progress. The result is a cohesive interface that balances functionality with simplicity and trust, creating a sustainable and engaging digital experience.
